On June 30, Regal Media Group, LLC CEO Todd A. Smith joined the Houston Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., the Alpha Alpha Kappa Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and Kappa member Mike Muse from “Sway in the Morning” and “The Mike Muse Show” on SiriusXM Radio to discuss the importance of local elections when it comes to police brutality.

During the panel discussion, the panelists discussed the importance of Super PACs in securing funding for local political candidates who will speak to the issues affecting the African-American community.

Muse has started an organization called Vote Quadrant, dedicated to promoting the importance of local elections, while also fundraising for certain candidates.

Smith said it is important that the African-American community hold local journalists accountable if they do not cover local elections as much as national elections.

Moreover, he also said that it is important that African-Americans do not become overly committed to one political party.
