Multimedia Executive Speaks at HBCU News Conference

On Feb. 7, Todd A. Smith, CEO of Regal Media Group, was asked to speak at the 16th National HBCU Student News Media Conference hosted by Prairie View A&M University.

Smith participated in a panel discussion entitled, “Entrepreneurialism in the Mass Media Industry.” RMG’s CEO stressed the importance of personifying one’s brand, and the significance of media ownership in the African American community.

The conference, which is a byproduct of the Black College Communication Association, honored Stephen A. Smith of ESPN’s “First Take” as its keynote speaker for the Excellence in Journalism Awards Banquet. Other keynote speakers over the weekend conference included Charles E. Williams, Jr., Melanie Lawson and Alexis Jones-Herron.
