On ‘Isiah,’ Smith Discusses Teacher Who Asked Black Students to Wear Shackles, Pick Cotton

On May 4, journalist Todd A. Smith appeared on “Isiah Factor Uncensored” to discuss the Rochester, N.Y. teacher who asked Black students to wear shackles and pick cotton, while excusing White students from the assignment.

Smith said as a teacher he could teach about the Holocaust without creating mock concentration camps for Jewish students. Furthermore, he could teach about World War II without locking Japanese American students in a separate room to replicate internment camps.
