Smith Gives Motivational Address to Yates H.S. Students

On Dec. 9, RMG CEO/President Todd A. Smith gave motivational speeches to the students of Jack Yates High School in Houston.

Smith warned the students about the dangers of making bad decisions and the double standard that might prevent young Black men from getting second chances in life.

He gave real life experiences about how his mistakes as a teenager curtailed a potential college basketball career; and how bad decisions by some teammates landed them in jail, while good decisions by other teammates landed them in the pros.

The multimedia executive also talked about how choosing the correct college to pursue one’s dreams could make the transition to professional life much easier.
