On Thursday, Feb. 21, Regal Media Group, LLC CEO Todd A. Smith was featured on the FOX 26 (KRIV) morning news. Interviewed by KRIV anchor Melissa Wilson, Smith spoke about the upcoming release of the Sony Playstation 4 (PS4) and what gamers can expect from the state-of-the-art video game console.
The Playstation 4 will feature a remote control with a touch screen and a special camera that will allow gamers to broadcast their live games on social media services. Social media friends will be able to interact with the gamer and give advice and pointers on the game he/she is playing.
With many gamers playing free and inexpensive games on their mobile devices, the PS4 will allow gamers to stream those games to their console and vice versa. Unfortunately, PS3 games will not be compatible with the PS4, but Sony is working on technology that will allow older games to be streamed to the new system.
Additionally, Smith spoke to journalism students at Houston’s Worthing High School on Monday, Feb. 25. In his speech, the RMG CEO gave students advice on how to be successful producing a talk show and how to properly prepare for a career in journalism. Smith told the students in attendance to learn every aspect of journalism, to never wait for an opportunity, but to create their own opportunity and to own their own creative property. The students are currently producing their own talk shows as a class project.
