On Dec. 31, Regal Media Group CEO Todd A. Smith appeared again on KRIV Fox 26, this time giving men advice on how to be romantic with their women without putting a strain on their wallet.
With social media making it easy for men to gain the attention of women, many men have lost their creativity when it comes to romance and that has led to complacency.
However, the city of Houston has several venues that will allow you to provide that romance without requiring much money.
What woman doesn’t like a romantic picnic? And the Miller Outdoor Theater at Hermann Park is the perfect venue for the perfect picnic. Enjoy a free show, such as the annual Motown Celebration, while cuddling together on the hill. Furthermore, you do not have to be a culinary artist to impress her with the meal. Stick with a simple, yet classy wine and cheese for your picnic menu. Visit Trader Joe’s and purchase some of their famous “Two Buck Chuck” wine. Also, visit Wal-Mart to buy Hickory Farms cheese and crackers for less than $8. You can also purchase a splendid picnic basket at Pier One for as low as $25.
If picnics are not your thing, a movie might be. At the Edward’s Grand Palace Theater on U.S. 59 and Weslayan, matinee movie tickets (before 4 P.M.) are only $8 as opposed to the usual $10.25. The movie will allow you to escape from reality, while getting close to your woman. This is the ideal “day date” if you are parents and your child is at school.
Lastly, poetry readings take place every Sunday at Club Bamboo on University Boulevard. Entry into Bamboo is only $10 and you have the opportunity to really show your woman your romantic side by blessing the microphone with an original composition dedicated to the love of your life. Doors open at 6 PM and the poetry readings begin 7:30 PM.
